Welcome to Kindergarten!
I am so excited to get to know your child. We have much fun and learning to do this year and I am thrilled to be doing this with your support. My goal is to do a brief weekly update to let you know what is going on in our classroom. It is through this website that you will learn of upcoming events, field trips, class schedules and the general happenings in kindergarten. Through this website I hope to give you a window into your child's day to day learning and adventures :) Please notice the tabs at the top of the page. These will take you to the class sharing schedule, calendar of events and ABC's of Kindergarten. This is additional information you will find helpful this year. My weekly updates will happen right here on the home page of my website.

May 22nd Update!
Our caterpillars are here...or rather WERE here. Now we have a bunch of Chrysalids! The children are so excited to see the life cycle taking place right in our classroom. Please feel free to pop in and check them out! We have been talking a lot about the parts of an insect and the things that make them unique.
We have also been studying Community Helpers. Today we were "Chefs" in our class, making mummy dogs and chocolate chip cookies. Next week we will be "Carpenters". We will be building a small cedar tool box/planter with the help of our big buddies. I would ask that you please send a hammer with your child at the beginning of the week. It will be returned by Friday, along with your child's creation.
May 30th is TWIN DAY! Your child may partner up and dress like a friend in the class. PLease dont worry about purchasing new items. Just go with matching colours and styles. It will be fun no matter what the children are wearing.
As we near the end of Kindergarten (only 26 school days left!!) you may notice a few things...Your child is probably tired, often rivalling September's energy level. It has been a long, busy and productive school year, and the children are ready for a break! While they are capable of larger quantities of written work and are able to produce quality work, they also need more play time. We are working to create that balance within the classroom :)
We will be visiting the Greater Vancouver Zoo on Friday June 21st. More info will follow shortly!
